Love this recent purchase. The black Matt finish is perfect in my kitchen. The size and depth is perfect for pasta, rice and even my salad dishes. Love it

Perfect size

Have been looking for plates with a little rim, locally, to no avail. Made in Japan makes it easy to order and deliver…all arrived in perfect order! My only regret was that they didn't have the beautiful green ones in stock💚oh well maybe next time

Very very disappointed

While I understand variance in glaze from plate to plate as they are all hand made, what I received is so poorly reflective of the originals I purchased. My new plates' glaze are "muddy" by comparison. None of the beautiful detail comes through and instead it's like a grey-brown smear.
I am a full time food stylist and I purchased these plates to go with existing plates I have in this range. They are nothing like my existing plates and I'm very doubtful I can use them at all. The camera I'm sure will pick up the colour/texture/opacity mismatch straight away.
I understand that sometimes in business, cheaper supply options are sought to improve your margins. This however is unacceptable. I choose to shop at MIJ because I expect the quality to be consistent. But because I only purchase online (sight unseen) how can I rely on that in the future?
I have the same result with my Earth glaze High rim bowls as well and photos of all my plates to back this up. To whom can I send these photos?

I am sorry you have received plates that vary from your previous order. I can see from your photos, there is a difference in overall shade.
The colour variation does not in any way compromise the integrity or quality of the plate and is in no way an indication of ‘cheaper’ supplier.
To resolve the issue for you, we have located 3 replacement plates for you that are darker. I am sure you will be happy with these, we will dispatch those today for you.
